Neither Greece nor the cluster of countries widely known as "PIGS" represent a clear and present danger to the US banking system.
Exposure to Greek debt is limited to a piecemeal $16 billion, which climbs to a total of $130bn if Ireland, Portugal and Spain are added into the mixture.
